Following the completion of his Master of Music degree at the University of Aberdeen, Brodie started working as a peripatetic percussion tutor for North Aberdeenshire Council. As an active member of Any Enemy, (North East New Music Ensemble), Brodie has assisted with the logistics for the Sound Festival in 2018. He has attended the IPI Seminar Course in Aberdeen since 2016 as a participant primarily and most recently during the 2019 course as an instructor for Gamelan workshops. During the 2019 course Brodie also premiered his composition for Gamelan ensemble and Shakuhachi. Whilst studying, Brodie was a member of the percussion section of the NYOS Flagship Orchestra during their BBC Proms concert and their Tour to China, performing in Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin.
